The Azores is a tropical paradise in Europe so easily accessible and on the top 100 World’s Most Sustainable Destinations.  At sea, its crystal clear waters are home to a rich diversity of fauna and blessed with great creatures as giant whales and acrobatic dolphins. On land shades of green cover the landscapes of mountains formed by volcanoes, fields, lakes, and springs. The number of waterfalls on the Azorian islands is countless. If you don’t like cold water you can try the hot springs. Yes, you can also find geysers at the Azores!

We call all of you nature lovers to join forces with us in this off-the-beaten-path adventure and let nature immerse us in silence and self-discovery and reveal to us the essence of our being.

Let us enjoy these 6 days together on Sao Miguel island in the Azores to watch whales these beautiful mammals and swim with dolphins in their natural environment. We will hike in amazing lush nature, do horse riding, take baths in hot springs and in the ocean, and get to know the island. Our group will be led by Alexander Northern Deer, a Spiritual Teacher, Shaman, and Healer and we will have many in-depth practices.

Activities & Fun

Whale watching

During this activity, you will have the opportunity to watch some of more than 25 cetacean species that can be found in the Azores. Although nature offers no guarantees, whales and dolphins are regularly seen during this activity, along with turtles, seabirds, and other marine life. Before the boat trip begins, biologists give us a briefing to explain which cetacean species can be observed, safety measures aboard, how we respect the animals, and rules of observation at sea as well as some historical facts. During the activity, each passenger is required to wear a life vest which is provided. Also, a raincoat and pants are provided.

Swimming with dolphins

Imagine yourself floating in the deep blue ocean of the Atlantic, watching and hearing dolphins in their natural habitat with your snorkel. Learn more about the species, enjoy the ocean, and find yourself on this invigorating trip! Before the trip, a general presentation about the dolphin species, how to swim with dolphins responsibly in the wild, how to use a mask and snorkel, rules and how to behave around the dolphins, and safety measures aboard, will be provided. Our beautiful friends are waiting for us! This is one of the most incredible experiences of your life!

Hiking

The Azores island is home to some of the most scenic hiking trails you can find anywhere. The semi-tropical climate of the Azores makes nature lush, green, and jungle-like!

In particular, Sao Miguel island is packed with volcano craters, lagoons, small rivers, and waterfalls that are accessible only on foot. We will endeavor to explore and discover the beauty of nature while hiking and immerse ourselves in silence while doing spiritual/personal development practices on the way, including swimming in cold and hot water!

Horse riding (optional at extra cost)

Those who love horses will discover a riding haven in the Azores, an archipelago home to many well-trained Lusitano and Cruzado Portuguese horses. As the island offers breathtaking landscapes and views over the Atlantic Ocean, paired with colorful gardens and green pastures is the perfect location to enjoy your horse ride that will last 2-3 hours. We will enjoy a beautiful stay in Senhora da Rosa, Tradition & Nature Hotel!

The air flights:

You will have to book a flight to Ponta Delgada Airport in São Miguel Island in the Azores, Portugal. There are direct flights to Ponta Delgada airport from Lisbon national airport.

Remarks:

You should make on your own all the relevant arrangements to have valid health insurance for your trip to the Azores
